Health Care

Alex is working to guarantee quality, affordable, and equitable health care for every American. No family should face bankruptcy because of an illness or be forced to choose between making rent and paying for medication. In the Senate, Alex has prioritized addressing the systemic disparities that affect health care access. He is proud to support Medicare for All and is a champion for increased access to mental health care.

Alex strongly supported the Inflation Reduction Act, a historic agreement that extended Affordable Care Act premium subsidies and capped out-of-pocket prescription drug costs and insulin costs for millions of Californians on Medicare.

Alex also knows that mental health is just as important as physical health. That’s why he created the first ever Bipartisan Mental Health Caucus as a forum to come together to create meaningful solutions to the mental health crisis in America.
