Alex believes that confronting global challenges requires strong partnerships. Following the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan, Senator Padilla led 25 of his Senate colleagues in calling on President Biden to continue the safe relocation of Afghan refugees. Alex also stands with the brave people of Ukraine against Russia’s unprovoked and unjustifiable invasion of their sovereign, democratic nation—and he helped successfully urge the Biden administration to grant Temporary Protected Status to Ukrainians fleeing wartime devastation. He is working with the State Department and other federal agencies to assist constituents with casework and has put together resources available here.
