Transportation and Infrastructure

Alex understands that for California families and businesses to succeed, they need safe, reliable infrastructure they can count on. After years of unfulfilled promises from Washington, and decades of federal underinvestment in California’s infrastructure, Alex helped deliver the largest investment in our nation’s infrastructure in nearly a century. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is investing tens of billions in federal funding to California’s roads, bridges, public transportation, ports, and broadband—all while combating the climate crisis and creating good-paying, union jobs. Thanks to legislation that Alex authored as part of the new law, it is also strengthening our electrical grids (POWER On Act), ensuring access to clean drinking water (Drought Resiliency Investment Act), electrifying our school bus fleets (Clean Commute for Kids Act), and improving Tribal health infrastructure (Urban Indian Health Providers Facilities Improvement Act).
