Padilla Statement on Senate Passage of National Security Aid Package

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) issued the following statement after the Senate passed a national security supplemental funding package to provide aid to Ukraine, Israel, and the Indo-Pacific as well as humanitarian assistance for civilians in Gaza:

“Today, the United States has shown the world that our resolve to stand with our allies and defend democracy remains ironclad. This aid will be critical to the outcome of the war in Ukraine and the future of western democracy. This bipartisan aid package will also send urgent and critical humanitarian assistance to innocent civilians in Gaza. I look forward to President Biden signing this national security package to reaffirm our commitment to our allies in Ukraine, Israel, and the Indo-Pacific and to deliver this relief as soon as possible.”
